*weyd- rădăcina proto-indo-europeană (PIE) a cuvintelor a vedea, a şti; deoarece PIE nu este o limbă atestată direct, toate sunetele şi cuvintele au fost reconstruite prin lingvistica istorică, folosind metoda comparativă. Multe din cuvintele limbilor indo-europene moderne sunt derivate din aceste proto-cuvinte prin schimbări fonetice.
*weyd- the Proto-Indo-European (PIE) root of the words to see, to know; since there is no direct attestation of PIE, all sounds and words have been reconstructed using historical linguistics and the comparative method. A lot of words in modern Indo-European languages are derived from these root words through sound changes.
